Manchester City

[2008] The “citizens” from the city of Manchester, who were usually a modest team in the Premier League, became the first club acquired by the ADUG (Abu Dhabi United Group).
Thanks to heavy financial investments, they gradually gained prominence until winning several leagues and other domestic cups. Today it is recognized worldwide and a strong candidate in continental competitions.
New York City FC

[2013] With the CFG already created, it was confirmed that, along with the New York Yankees, they obtained the twentieth franchise in Major League Soccer.
Two years later they officially started participating in the MLS, their best performance being the title won in 2021 against the Portland Timbers.
Melbourne City FC

[2014] Their expansion continued in Australia where they took the reins of Melbourne Heart FC, which competes in the A-League. In Oceania, they made their first important decisions as their name and colors were modified to become the ones that identify the group.
Yokohama F. Marinos

[2014] Around the same time they arrived in Australia, they landed in Japanese football where they bought a percentage of the popular Yokohama F. Marinos.
In 2026, Nissan Motors repurchased the shares held by CFG and returned to fully control the institution. From now on, it will only be a “Partner Club”, just like Bolívar from Bolivia.
Montevideo City Torque

[2017] After several years with no news, CFG decided to invest in South America, taking charge of Club Atlético Torque in Uruguay. Shortly after, the team from the city of Montevideo changed its name and crest.
Girona FC

[2017] The purchase of 44.3% of the shares of the Catalan club based in the city of Girona was confirmed. The club was promoted to the elite for the first time a few months after CFG’s arrival, they returned to the Spanish lower divisions for just two seasons, and returned for 2022/23.
Currently, it owns 47%. Other percentages belong to Bolivian businessman Marcelo Claure (35%) and the Girona Football Group (16%).
Shenzhen Peng City

[2019] The Chinese investors belonging to the group took over all the shares of Sichuan Jiuniu. Starting in 2024, after their promotion to the top flight, the club moved to another city and was renamed SHENZHEN PENG CITY, changing its colors and crest.
Lommel SK

[2020] The Belgian club became the first investment of 2020. This small institution, which is in the second division, will be used primarily to develop young prospects.
ESTAC Troyes

[2020] After having several French teams on their shortlist, the team from the city of Troyes was the one they ended up arranging to buy. A few months later, they managed to return to Ligue 1.
Club Bolívar

[2021] The Bolivian team from the city of La Paz became the first associate club (Partner Club), for which they will receive advice, access to the group’s technology, and investments such as the creation of a high-performance complex. This was possible because its president, Marcelo Claure, is part of the CFG after acquiring 35% of Girona.
Palermo FC

[2022] After failing to purchase NAC Breda (Netherlands), the Italian squad was chosen to land in another important European country. Following several financial problems, the Sicilians were refounded in 2019 and will soon be playing in Serie B.
EC Bahia

[2023] The Brazilians are the third South American club to join the group. Since 2023, CFG will own 90% of the shares of the team from Salvador, Bahia, which will seek to gain prominence in the domestic league.
