Far behind in second place, with 5 titles each, are Borussia Mönchengladbach and Borussia Dortmund, while Werder Bremen completes the podium with 4.
Additionally, Hamburg and Stuttgart have lifted the championship on 3 occasions, FC Köln and Kaiserslautern twice, and five other teams have won it once: 1860 Munich, FC Nürnberg, Eintracht Braunschweig, Wolfsburg, and Bayer 04 Leverkusen.
