All Major League Soccer Champions (1996 → 2025)

The complete Roll of Honor: Every franchise to lift the MLS Cup.

Major League Soccer has completed 30 consecutive seasons in the United States, with a total of 16 teams crowned champions over nearly three decades.

The tournament began in 1996 with just 10 franchises, and as of 2025, there are 30 clubs competing to lift the MLS Cup, where the winners of the Eastern and Western Conferences face off.

Throughout its history, three founding members of the competition have become the most successful: LA Galaxy is the only club with 6 stars above its crest, followed by D.C. United with 4, and Columbus Crew, which has lifted the trophy 3 times.

In 2017, Toronto FC became the first Canadian side to win the title. In recent years, several newer clubs have joined the list, including Atlanta United, New York City FC, Los Angeles FC, and Inter Miami CF—all franchises founded after 2014.
